Flats Fishing in the Fog - Vudu Mullet and Mirrolure win the day! Feb 5th 2019
Its Feb 5th, 2019. My last video was from the day before on Feb 4th, I had to get out and fish again the next day. The fishing and the weather was too good to pass up. This day we had some rolling fog banks that I personally love fishing in, any type of fluctuating light usually sparks the bite up as the bait fishes eyes' react slower to changing light conditions and the game-fish know it. Again I encountered no redfish but the trout was fishing was phenomenal and I could tell by the warm weather we have been having that the days were counting down until the big trout start to leave the inter coastal earlier then in previous years. As I write this today on March 14th I can tell you I was right, March has been sub par for big trout so far and on Feb 23rd the FWC suddenly closed the season on Trout over 20" in length. Obviously somebody knows something isn't right with the trout stocks in the Tampa Bay Area. In previous years March was the best month, but this year and last year, February was the hot month for trout fishing. I don't ask questions why, I just do what my gut tells me I should. Anyway I went out a lot more in February so I have some other great videos coming at you each week for a while and the red-fish do finally return in my next video and I fish some other areas.
