Ultraskiff Round Skiff Cover and Skiff Poncho Video
This video goes in depth on the best round boat covers for the Ultraskiff on the market and teaches how to build a skiff poncho.
If you plan on leaving your boat on your trailer outside year round, then a good alternative to a tarp is a round patio table cover. Luckily there are great 72" covers online that provide the perfect fit for the Ultraskiff. These covers are pretty well made and durable. They can also be coverted into what we call a "skiff poncho" that allow the boat to be outifitted with a seat and a motor for actual use or while tied up to a dock in the water long term while covered. The skiff poncho offers a way for die hard "rain-fishing" enthusiasts to fish in the rain without getting the cupholders or compartments wet. Yes, there are people who purposefully fish in the rain. I have learned this over the years and I am glad we were able to offer them a long term solution. I often fish in the rain with a cover with no problem, but I don't stay out there too long in a heavy downpour. This also offers a solution for people who want to keep there boat in the water while outfitted long term, allowing you after several days of rain to simply remove the poncho and start fishing. Many people question the possibility of having drains in the compartments, drains are simple to add if you want you just have to drilla small hole in the bottom of whatever you want to drain out but then you are allowing your Hull to become waterlogged. This creates a bit of a conundrum because the waterlogged hull is uncomfortable to sit in because of the moving water weight, it also makes it heavier to remove from the water and you have to then set the boat up at the correct angle in order to drain the water from the hull after you are done as opposed to having any water instantly fall out when you stand up the boat vertically.
